Bill Shank

After his conversion, and during his years as a manager of a retail store, Bill Shank began to serve as a deacon with a lay minister's licence at Five Forks BIC (Waynesboro, PA). In 1995 he was invited to serve on the staff team with responsibility for assimilation. Before long, multi-media was enfolded into his role. In the highly collaborative approach at Five Forks, Bill shared in "most everything else" with the staff team. In 2017 he was appointed administrative pastor and three years later, until his retirement in December 2024, Bill served as lead pastor at Five Forks.

Bill attended Elizabethtown College and transferred to Messiah College (now University). He enjoys following his favorite sports teams (Packers, Blues, Cardinals) and working in his garden with raspberries and popcorn as favorites. He enjoys biking (with a recent upgrade to an e-bike) and especially enjoys taking long walks in the evening with his wife, Karen, and daughter, Olivia. For vacations, the family heads to the ocean at Myrtle Beach.

Dave Hershberger

Dave Hershberger (usually called "Hersh") served as the worship pastor at Mechanicsburg BIC for 27 years. His goal was to enable worshipers to express their love for God through music and song so that worship could permeate all aspects of life--at church, work, home, and everywhere. Currently, Dave serves as associate pastor with responsibilities for pastoral care and healing ministry. In wider ministry, Hersh launched and led Inspire Worship, a ministry to train worship leaders and teams in the "heart" and "calling" of worship as well as related technical skills.

Hersh graduated from Messiah College (now University) in accounting and from Shippensburg University with a master's degree in psychology and counseling. For two years he studied at Pacific School of Worship (Langley, British Columbia). Hersh enjoys sharing ministry with his wife, Bonnie, playing music in the community, giving guitar lessons, and officiating high school girl's basketball.
